In turn, we have made sure our employees understand that we expect each of them to make a significant contribution. Actelion acknowledges that people come to us from diverse backgrounds, both culturally and professionally. Our CEO, Jean-Paul Clozel, personally spends a significant amount of his time working to foster a corporate culture in which innovation is the focus. A recent global employee survey has revealed a very high degree of support and adherence to Actelion’s core values throughout its workforce. Compared to industry benchmarks, a significantly higher proportion of our employees would recommend Actelion as a place to work – our relatively low turnover rate mirrors this satisfaction. Actelion – and its shareholders – have always understood that performance should be rewarded adequately both in the short and in the long-term. We offer incentive schemes such as performance-based bonuses and equity-based programs. |  | From the beginning, Actelion has been a company rich in diversity. Our headquarters are located in an area where the Swiss, French and German borders meet. Here, a strong life-science industry has attracted highly qualified individuals from all around the world. Actelion currently employs at its headquarters more than 700 professionals from more than 35 different nations. Actelion’s business momentum is mirrored in an increasing number of employees and locations around the world. In 2007, we had a presence in 23 countries.
